Volume 2 Health Care Technology: Enabling Collaboration Between Payers and Providers
AMERICAN HEALTH CARE IS AT CRITICAL MASS. Patients, hospitals, and health plans struggle to find a way to work together toward the common goal of safe, affordable, and successful health solutions. While the technology and services available today are a quantum leap from the days of the house call, patient satisfaction is at an all-time low. Our second edition of the Health Care Technology Project examines payer and provider collaboration and sheds new light on how these seemingly antagonistic structures can unite to provide better quality, privacy, safety, and cost.

 Volume 1 Health Care Technology
Demands from government, corporate pressures, and most importantly patient need, have put the health care system itself on the examination table. While budget constraints keep many hospitals on DOS and grease boards, a plethora of new technology has arrived to transform the world of clinical care. From point-of-care, integrated devices to Internet-enabled picture archiving, the potential to improve the patient experience seems boundless. To help illuminate the possibilities, we brought in consultants, analysts, clinicians, vendors, and scientists to paint as complete a picture as possible of a clinical system that touches each of our lives. This volume explores the latest thinking on how IT aids care delivery.
